Our Founder –
Ms. Kathy Tucker’s life is a testament to the power of faith, love, and relentless compassion. In the heart of Atlanta’s most struggling neighborhoods, where poverty and despair often painted the futures of countless children, she saw not hopelessness but promise—a promise she was determined to nurture.
With unwavering faith in God and inspired by the teachings of Jesus, Ms. Tucker founded the Cornerstone Mission, a beacon of hope for children society had often overlooked. These were children living in dire conditions, some without stable homes, others ensnared in cycles of neglect and delinquency. But to Kathy, they were not lost causes—they were her children.
Through the mission, she built more than just a shelter; she built a home filled with love, guidance, and opportunities. She believed in the transformative power of stability and belonging. Each child she took in, she treated as her own, providing not only food and clothing but also the intangible gifts of dignity and purpose. Under her care, they learned to dream again, to see themselves as worthy of love, capable of success, and deserving of brighter tomorrows.
Her outreach extended far beyond the immediate neighborhoods of Cabbagetown, Grant Park, and Stewart Avenue. With a heart as boundless as her faith, she embraced children from the Vietnamese, the Korean, and other diverse communities, fostering unity in a city often divided by cultural and economic barriers. Her work wasn’t just about charity—it was about creating a family where everyone belonged, regardless of their background.

The impact of Ms. Tucker’s mission rippled through Atlanta, touching not just the children she helped but also the volunteers, community leaders, and families who joined her cause. The Atlanta Children’s Coalition became a thriving community of faith, love, and service, built on the foundation she laid with her tireless devotion.
Today, her legacy lives on through the hands and hearts of the children she raised through the mission. They continue her work, guided by the same steadfast love for God and humanity that defined her life. Her story reminds us all that one person’s faith and determination can illuminate the darkest of places, turning despair into hope and transforming lives one at a time.
Ms. Kathy Tucker’s life was a beautiful hymn of love, echoing the words of scripture: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). Her legacy, much like her faith, remains unchanging—a cornerstone for generations to come
